France called Russia an accomplice in the chemical attack in Syria
French President Emmanuelle Macron called Russia an accomplice to the alleged chemical attack in Syria. He stated this in an interview with BFMTV.
According to the French leader, Moscow "has undermined the actions of the international community". He recalled the resolution of September 2013, according to which it is permissible to use force in case of violation of the ban on the use of chemical weapons.
"The Russians always blocked the vote. The Russians are accomplices. They did not use chlorine, but methodically built the incompetence of international diplomacy," Macron said.
The president also added that he persuaded his American counterpart Donald Trump to maintain his presence in the region, and to limit the use of missiles only by chemical weapons facilities.
Earlier, the United States bombarded Damascus from three sides and from the sky. The purpose of the attack is to prevent the new use of chemical weapons in Syria. The reason for bombing was the chlorine bomb dropped near the city of Damascus.
