US announced the invasion of hordes of Russian trolls
The number of active Russian Internet trolls in the network over the past 24 hours increased by 2000 percent. About this at a briefing on the operation against the Syrian chemical weapons industry, said US Defense Department spokesman Dana White, reports CNN.
"The Russian disinformation campaign has already begun, (...) so we'll keep you posted," she said.
During the briefing, the Pentagon also denied statements by the Syrian military that they managed to intercept or shoot down American missiles or aircraft.
In the operation that took place on the night of April 14, the United States, Britain and France participated. The military of these countries, with the help of aviation and navy, attacked three objects in Syria, which, according to Washington, are believed to ensure the production and storage of chemical weapons in the republic. The targets were attacked with cruise missiles.
Under the "troll factory" often mean the Russian Internet Research Agency, located in St. Petersburg. The US accuses this structure of influencing the public opinion of Americans with the help of social networks during the presidential campaign in 2016.
