Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio will perform in the new Tarantino's film
The main roles in the new film by Quentin Tarantino will be performed by actors Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio. This is written by The Hollywood Reporter.
DiCaprio will play Rick Dalton, an actor who gained fame thanks to the television series-western. Pitt will act as Cliff Booth, Dalton's backup. According to Tarantino, the story takes place in Los Angeles in 1969, "at the time of the Hollywood hippies." Characters are trying to survive in new realities, which are absolutely not adapted.
The director noted that Dalton lives next door to actress Sharon Tate. In the summer of 1969, the actress became a victim of Charles Manson's henchmen who infiltrated her house and killed all the people in it.
Tarantino stressed that he worked on the script for five years. "I really want to tell a story about Los Angeles and Hollywood, which no longer exists. And the most beautiful thing is that I managed to connect DiCaprio and Pitt to the work," the cinematographer added.
The newspaper notes that the negotiations with the actors were very tense, and DiCaprio at one stage of the discussion almost gave up the role.
Brad Pitt previously played in the Tarantino's movie "Inglourious Basterds". DiCaprio starred in the film "Django the Liberated".
In the summer of 2017 it was reported that the ninth picture of Tarantino would be dedicated to Manson, however, according to sources, to the same extent that "Inglourious Basterds" were dedicated to Adolf Hitler.
The film's premiere is scheduled for August 9, 2019.
