Google will copy the "notch" of iPhone X
Google Corp. plans to add support for the cutout at the top of the display to Android. This is reported by Bloomberg with reference to the source.
According to the interlocutor of the agency, Google plans to completely revise Android, to adapt it to "a new generation of smartphones." This implies adding a cutout on the screen, under which there is a talking speaker, camera and other sensors. Also, the company wants to increase the autonomy of smartphones and expand the capabilities of Google Assistant.
At the moment, among the Android-smartphones, the cutout on the screen has only Essential Phone. It is noted that in this way Google will give more opportunities for developers, and the release of similar smartphones on the iPhone will push Apple users to transition to Android. iPhone X became one of the first smartphones with a "notch", and many Chinese companies have already copied the design of the device.
The iPhone X was introduced in the fall of 2017, its price starts from 999 dollars. One of the main features of the smartphone was the face ID scanner, which is located at the top of the display along with the speaker and front camera.
