Twitter has finally started to make a profit

Twitter social network for the first time in 12 years of its existence has received a net profit. In the fourth quarter of 2017, it amounted to 91 million dollars. Prior to that, the company ended each reporting period with losses, reports MoneyControl.

Quarterly revenue increased by two percent in annual terms - up to $ 732 million. The number of users compared to the previous quarter almost did not change, but since 2016 it has increased by 4 percent - to 330 million.

Shares of Twitter went up by 26 percent - to 33.86 dollars.

The network expanded the user base and improved the system of interaction with users, added video advertising and increased the number of characters in the tweet to 280, which attracted new people to it, MoneyControl notes.
